How to get started with Barksley

Contact Us

Complete our quick and easy New Client Request Form below to tell us about your pet care needs. This will help us determine the best team of Barksley professionals to care for your pet. Please be sure to tell us if your pet has any special needs, such as a dog walker who is experienced with leash aggression. After receiving your submission, we will reach out over email to arrange a Meet & Greet with you.

 

Please note that we are not able to accommodate last minute or emergency pet care for new clients. We need a few days to arrange a Meet & Greet.

Meet & Greet

A Meet & Greet is required for all new clients. It is our opportunity to meet you and your pets while discussing all the details of pet care. We will ask about the pet's normal routine, behavior, and health history. We want to see where you keep pet related items, such as food, leashes, litter boxes, and cleaning supplies. 

At the Meet & Greet, you will need to provide us with two key copies to your home and proof of Rabies for each pet. There is no cost for the Meet & Greet.

Schedule Pet Care

All of our pet care services are time-based and tailored to the needs of you and your pet. We offer 30 minute, 45 minute, and 1 hour visits. The same Barksley professionals who attend the Meet & Greet will care for your pet. Your pet will always see a familiar face and receive consistent pet care.

After your Meet & Greet, simply email us to schedule pet care. At the end of each scheduled visit, we send you a real-time update summarizing the visit and including a photo of your pet.

We are not able to accommodate last minute or emergency pet care for new clients. We need a minimum of 72 hours from your initial contact to discuss your pet care needs and schedule a Meet & Greet.

Preparing for your Meet & Greet

A Meet & Greet is required for all new clients. It is our opportunity to meet you and your pets while discussing all the details of pet care. We will ask about the pet's normal routine, behavior, and health history. We want to see where you keep pet related items, such as food, leashes, litter boxes, and cleaning supplies. 

Please have the following items ready at the time of the Meet & Greet.

New Client Forms

We require you to complete our Owner Information Form, a Pet Information Form for each pet we will care for, and sign our Service Agreement

You can complete these forms prior to the Meet & Greet and email us a digital copy or have the paper forms ready for us at the Meet & Greet.

Vaccine Record

We need proof of a current Rabies vaccination for each dog and cat we care for that is 6 months or older. This can be any document or invoice from your vet showing a current Rabies vaccine. The metal Rabies tag will not suffice.

You or your can vet email proof to Info@BarksleyRVA.com or you can have a paper copy for us at the Meet & Greet.

Key Copies

We require two copies of your house key at the time of the Meet & Greet. We will keep these keys on file, unless you request otherwise. Let us know if your building requires special entry, such as a fob or door code. Key copies are not required if you have a keyless entry or a lockbox on site. If you have an alarm that will be activated when we visit, we will ask you to demo arming and disarming the system.
