Policies & FAQs

We believe in clear communication, reliable service, and thoughtful care. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about working with Barksley and what to expect when trusting us with your pet and home.

Getting Started

Meet & Greet

We require a Meet & Greet for all new clients before beginning service. This allows us to ensure we are a good fit for you and your pet while learning about your pet’s routine, behavior, and health history.

During the Meet & Greet, we will review care instructions and where pet supplies are kept, including food, leashes, litter boxes, and cleaning materials. Meet & Greets take place in your home and are scheduled with a manager and your primary pet sitter.

A $22 deposit is required to schedule the Meet & Greet and will be applied in full to your first scheduled service. If services are not scheduled, the deposit is retained to cover our time.

We require proof of a current Rabies vaccination for all dogs and cats over 6 months of age prior to the first service.

Home Access

Clients must provide safe and reliable access to their home. We recommend providing two keys, a lockbox, or keyless entry.

If we are unable to access your home at the time of a scheduled visit, the visit will still be charged in full.

Scheduling & Availability

When Can I Schedule?

Visits may be requested between 7:00am–9:00pm, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays (availability may be limited).

We do not require a minimum scheduling commitment. Services may be requested as needed. We do not charge extra for as-needed scheduling.

Last-Minute & On-Demand Requests

We understand that plans change and offer flexible scheduling whenever possible. Requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice will include a $5 Priority Scheduling Fee (applied per request, not per visit). This fee is non-refundable.

Last-minute requests are not guaranteed and depend on staff availability.

Do you require monthly scheduling?

No, we do not require that you schedule a visit unless needed. We encourage clients with more shy or fearful pets to schedule on a regular basis to help build and maintain a bond between your pet and your pet care team. This will allow your pet to feel more comfortable and less stressed when you are away.

Do you charge more for as-needed scheduling?

No, we charge the same rate whether you schedule on a regular basis or on as-need basis.

What if I'm delayed getting home?

We understand travel delays happen. Simply request additional visits and we will do our best to accommodate. Please also send us a message or text message so we can work on your request immediately.
